Antrim Women's Alliance

Making a difference in our community by providing financial support and services

In late 2019 the Antrim County Lioness Organization faced a decision to either disband, join another Lion’s group or fold.  Not liking any of those choices a group of 6-8 members of the former Lioness Organization started meeting and discussing another option: create a new organization.

These women developed a new mission, created by-laws, articles of incorporation, got IRS approval as a 501(c)(3) and on July 1, 2020 established The Antrim Women's Alliance (AWA).  Some of the founding AWA members  include:  Barb Van Pelt, Bonnie Piche,  Sally Hannert, Cathy Henton, Nancy Ludwa, Helen Schuckel, and Sylvia Schonauer-Kalchik.

By July 1, 2021  AWA had grown to 21 members. This year our membership includes over 40 members.

We currently conduct three major fundraisers each year.  All of the funds raised are distributed to various worthwhile and vital  501(c)(3) organizations around Antrim County. AWA members also provide hours of volunteer service in our community.
