Empowering and Supporting Antrim County Students

Our Goal

To link first-generation and/or economically disadvantaged scholars to a brighter future, changing the paradigm for this rural community.

Why Antrim Scholars?

When you grow up in a community where students don't go to college and parents don't have a college degree, there's a tendency for kids to follow the same path. The Antrim Scholars program is a robust program designed to increase college access for first-generation and economically disadvantaged youth.

How does it work?

Antrim Scholars bring together key supports kids need to be successful in college and career.  The Program consists of 1:1 mentor, workshops, SAT preparation, essay writing, tutoring, college visits, and college experience camps.  We believe it is essential to work with scholars, parents, school, mentors and other community youth serving agencies to truly be successful. We are a completely volunteer run college access program.

The Antrim Scholars Pilot Program

During the 2024-25 school year we piloted our program with 6 high school juniors who attend Central Lake Public Schools.

These students program included:

Mentors

Each Scholar is matched with a mentor that has experience in the area the student is intered in pursuing.  Mentorship is a 6-year commitment and will continue through high school graduation and through college.  All mentors complete training and background checks.
